Are lemons good for you to eat?

Absolutely, they are very high in vitamin C, an antioxidant. Vitamin C can reverse the damage of free radicals on the body, and can boost the immune system. Lemons are pretty bitter on their own, I would recommend making lemonade with them, or sweetening them in some other way.

Lemons are healthy for you to eat because they are an excellent source of vitamin C and contain no fat or sugars. Lemon’s chemical structure is believed to fight off free radicals and cancerous cells in the human body. Some people believe that a cup of hot water with lemon in it will help release toxins in the liver.

While lemons have some good vitamins, be careful if you eat them plain because the acid in the lemons can wear off the enamel on your teeth. So it is a good idea to make lemonade and drink it through a straw to protect your teeth.

Yes, lemons are good for you to eat.  As portland1983 says, they have a ton of vitamin C, just like oranges.  Lemons have other good qualities though and drinking lemons (in water) can actually be one of the best things you can do for your health.

Lemon water is thought to prevent bacteria buildup in the body because lemons are anti-scorbutic which means they have properties that help to fight off future disease and rid the body of any impurities currently present in the system.

Dr. Gillian McKeith says that a cup of water in the morning (prior to ingesting any food or other liquids) acts as a chimney sweeper, pushing out any mucus or junk left over from the day before and allows your body to start the day fresh.

In addition, lemon water is thought to be helpful in relieving indigestion, heartburn, bloating, gas, and cramping.  More than one lemon, typically three or four, in a glass of water can also help to decrease the pain and discomfort associated with excessive menstruation and menstrual cramps.

Furthermore, lemons aid in liver stimulation, helping to dissolve uric acid in the stomach and clear out toxins that create blockage and contribute to diseases such as malaria and liver disorder.
