    Yes they are worth it.

    • They last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents.
    • Very durable
    • Produce only 3.4 btus/hr compared to 85 for incandescents.
    • use only 2-10 watts of electricity

It definitely is worth the money!  LED bulbs only use 2-10 watts of electricity, 1/3 to 1/30th of that used by incandescent and CFL lights.  LEDs also last up to 10 times longer than CFLs and even longer than that compared to incandescent.  It’s a one time investment that can save you a lot of money over the years.

Yes they do, they can use as little as 1/15th of the the electricity of regular incandescent light bulbs while giving the same amount of light (3W vs 45W).  And money advisor Clark Howard even advocates purchasing LED light bulbs as a money saving tactic.  Over time you will save a lot of energy and it is estimated that if all the light bulbs in the world were replaced with LEDs we would end up saving nearly a billion barrels of oil in just 10 years.
