Koalas are wild animals and need to be treated as such. In the wild, the koala’s temperament (what makes it seem nice or mean) kind of depends on their mood as well as how much contact they have with people. If they are disturbed, they can use their long sharp claws quite violently. In captivity, koalas have more contact with humans and some even expect human contact, making them “nice” towards people.
