Good question, morton. There are 8 different genera (plural of genus) of Iguanas within the family Iguanidae. Most of them are native to central and south America, but two of them, the genus Dipsosaurus and genus Sauromalus, are native to Mexico as well as the southwestern United States. There are other iguanas that have been introduced to various parts of the southern US and Hawaii, but they are not native.
Hope this helps!
