Yes. Inkjet printers do have negative environmental impacts. The dye-based ink used by most inkjet printers makes the recycling of the paper extremely difficult. Even when used in small amounts, these inks can spoil whole loads of paper set to be recycled. Also, the solvent-base of the inks releases organic carbons that can cause massive damage to the environment. Although there are water-based inks, they are not as popular and they do not solve the problem of recycling.
