Not a bad question, hydrogen cars are already being made but the main issue is the available infrastructure that would be needed for refueling these vehicles. As an example the Hydrogen Highway in Norway is an example of the necessary alteration to infrastructure that are needed for a Hydrogen vehicle to be functional, and eventually mass produced.
Hydrogen cars are already on the road both in California and Japan. In 2005, Honda leased the first commercial hydrogen car to a family in Redondo Beach. Research is continually being done to improve this/ zero emissions technology.
