It’s really a bit early to get statistically significant numbers, but it seems that hybrid engines are lasting longer than conventional engines. This is likely due to the lower average operating temperatures of the hybrid engines.
There are records of first-generation Prius engine’s still working fine after 200,000+ miles. Both the gas and electric motors in hybrids are built to last. It’s the hybrid battery that can be a problem over time, which is expensive to replace.
