Hybrid vehicles currently on the market have significantly higher fuel efficiency than conventional cars. Especially in city stop-and-go driving, the Toyota Prius, for example, can run entirely on electricity when operated at low speeds. It’s estimated that if you drive 15,000 miles a year within a city, a Prius would save you 4,500 dollars over a Focus.
