There is a fundamental problem with hybrid cars. They still use gasoline. In essence all gasoline powered cars are a fad. Eventually another fuel source will have to be used. In the mean time, however, hybrids are a great way to reduce emissions and save gas in the intermittent change from a world dependent on oil.
I don’t think so, because I think hybrid cars stand for something bigger about our society. We are more knowledgeable about our environment and our impact, so I think we will continue looking for ways to save fossil fuels and reduce our carbon emissions. I’m sure we will invent something better, as in better electric cars, but until we have something better, they hybrid car might be the “in-between” state between being fuel hogs and being fuel smart.
