Well, it pullutes vast amounts of valuable water. Between 9000 and 29000 cubic metres of water is needed for fracturing on a single well, which is treated with hamful chemicals. Operations destroy local land and habitat, residence near by have to breathe in polluted air, find somewhere to get drinkable clean water, put up with noise pollution, be bought out by “natural gas” companies, and watch their land/pasture be destroyed.
