Cow farts are worse for the environment than human farts because they emit more methane, which contributes to global warming. In fact, methane is 23 times more powerful than CO2, which is also known for causing global warming. Most of the methane released by cows is released by belching though. The average dairy cow is estimated to emit anywhere from 100 to 500 liters of methane each day.
Only about 1/3 of people emit methane when they fart. People who release methane during flatulence do not necessarily fart more often than people who do not release methane.
