Are the health risks of eating fast food worse than the environmental risks?

Maybe not. The health risk of eating one fast food hamburger, for example, may very well be negligible if it will be eaten by a healthy person in addition to an otherwise healthy diet. However, the environmental damage caused by the production of that hamburger is significant and unavoidable. That environmental damage will take place regardless of anything the individual does, while there are numerous things (such as eating in moderation) that the individual can do to attenuate the negative health effects of eating fast food.
