Yes actually. It has very muscular shoulders and it’s extensive front claws help make it an excellent digger.
Grizzly bears are actually very good and very quick diggers, useful for picking gophers and other rodents out of their underground burrows. The bear is equipped with very large, strong arm and shoulder muscles, and also helpful digging paws. Their 3-5 inch long claws enable them to dig through the Earth, as well as pick apart decaying logs to reach the sources of honey and bugs for food. This is also helpful when they dig their own den to hibernate in for the winter season.
