Try one! The answer is yes, although not as sweet as other fruits. Grapefruit has 6 grams of sugar per 100 grams. If you need it sweeter, table sugar won’t hurt. Grapefruit also has much nutritional value.
Grapefruits are what I would call bittersweet. A grapefruit has hints of a sweet, citrusy taste that mingles with a bitter, sometimes sour tone. A lot of people like to eat grapefruits with a bit of sugar sprinkled over the flesh of the fruit to tone down the bitterness. However, a lot of people like grapefruits just the way they are.
