I had not considered the destructive force of a glacier but the article cited below said that glaciers, though slow moving, greatly impact the land around them. They are imperceptibly scraping down ridges, gouging out valleys, conveying massive volumes of rock rubble and depositing it along their course. The threat is becoming more perceptible because of climate change. Changes in the atmosphere are rapidly reflected in changes in a glacier’s behavior.
