The laws on dingos vary from state to state in Australia. There are protected areas for the wild dogs, where there can be no killing, however in many areas there is a responsibility of farmers to eradicate pest animals on their land.
It is a bit of an oxymoron for the nation. There are numerous areas of conservation to protect the ‘pure’ species of dingo, and in the exact same state, they encourage the killing of dingos as control measures.
So yes, farmers are allowed to kill dingos as long as they aren’t located in protected areas and are designated pest animals.
