A dust storm can be dangerous in the sense that it can impair people’s vision while they’re driving. Just last month a dust storm in Arizona caused a 24 vehicle crash in which one person was killed. Respiration wise, dust storms can irritate the upper respiratory system, but usually the dust particles are too large to get into the lungs. However for a person who has a pre-existing respiratory condition like asthma, dust from a storm can provoke an attack and have more hazardous effects.
