Are diet sodas less harmful for your teeth because of their absence of sugar?

No, because there are two ways that soda attacks your teeth: one is with sugar and the other is with acid.  The acid literally erodes the teeth, removing the enamel and potentially dissolving the tooth.  Long-term soda drinking can lead to cracked, discolored and/or hypersensitive teeth.
