Over the last 25 years there has been a noticeable increase in the number and strength of hurricanes and tropical storms in the Indian Ocean, the North Pacific, and South Pacific Oceans, with a small increase in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. With this the number of cyclones and number of cyclone days has decreased in all areas except the North Atlantic.
