Speaking as a cook, it depends on what kind of efficiency you are talking about. If you want a way to cook something without having to watch it, crock pots are great for that. But crock pots cook for a long time and use a lot of electricity in the process. Whereas normal stove top cooking doesn’t last as long and is more energy efficient, it really depends on what you are cooking. Example: if you are cooking a stew that will take a few hours no matter how you cook it, stove top or crock pot.
