Crayfish are a vital part of an ecosystem as they very sensitive to water pollution and are a good indication for the state of the water in the area they are in. They are endangered for many reasons, one of them being that they are being trapped and eaten by human beings. In that they are endangered, it is not advisable to treat them like they will be around forever. Though technically they are a renewable source of food, their endangered status means that they probably won’t be for that much longer if they are continued to be treated in this manner.
