Are cow companies scared of cap and trade?

The U.S. cattle industry has indeed criticized proposed cap-and-trade legislation. H.R. 2454 will increase the costs of production for cattle ranchers and meat processors, in part because electricity in rural communities is typically higher. Because cap-and-trade allows companies to purchase the ability to pollute, larger corporations may benefit by getting around emissions restrictions while small farms may not be able to afford this luxury. Worse still, the ability of cap-and-trade to do anything to impact CO2 emissions is very much in question.
