Are countries expecting Copenhagen to fix their climate problems?

The goals of Copenhagen are not necessarily to address nations’ climate problems. In essence, the climate summit is necessary to revise, update, and gain support for the soon-to-be-expiring Kyoto Protocol. Therefore, the Copenhagen summit is intended to address some of the problems that are the underlying causes of climate change (for example, CO2 emissions) but not necessarily climate change itself. This is an unrealistic expectation for what can occur in Copenhagen.
