Are coal train acne cleansers bad for the environment?

From the look of it, these cleansers seem to have charcoal as the “coal” ingredient.  Charcoal is supposed to clean deep into the pores, stimulate blood circulation, and protect moisture levels.  Charcoal is not necessarily destructive to our enviroment and is produced on a regular basis for a variety of reasons.
