Are chainless bikes more eco friendly than regular bikes?

Both types of bike are equally environmentally friendly as they require one’s own energy to fuel the power rather than relying on oil, heat, steam, etc.  Chainless bicylces use shaft drive technology meaning that the power from the pedals of the bike is transferred into the back wheel using efficient gears rather than sprockets an chains like a regular, chained bike.  While the chainless technology makes it more effecient, easier to use and maintain, and cleaner (no grease or oil from chains) it doesn’t make it any more or less environmentally friendly than a regular bike.
