Not exactly. They are usually made from plastic and other petroleum products. They aren’t very durable and so people have to get a new one every year or two unlike your home phone which you may replace once every 10 years. Also there is a metal in cell phones that is mined in Africa. The mines happen to be very close to the last of the Gorilla populations and poaching for bush-meat has been a huge problem for the Gorilla population as more and more workers come in to mine for cell phone raw materials. So make sure to take good care of your cell phone and recycle it when it is time for a new one. Better yet buy a refurbished one.
