Are carbonated drinks bad for the environment?

Well in no way are they good for the environment, that is for sure. The carbonation in the drinks comes from dissolved CO2, which makes up less than 1 percent of the Earths atmosphere. Releasing that CO2 could prove to be harmful to the atmosphere, but it would take a heck of a lot of soda to compare to the CO2 emissions from other things such as cars and other big sources. The biggest hazard that carbonated drinks pose to the environment are the containers they are stored in. These are way more deadly than the drinks stored in them.
