Are car batteries the worst thing for the environment in a car?

Even though car batteries are made from some dangerous chemicals and materials, I would still argue that a car’s gas tank has the worst affect on the environment because it burns fuel. I know what you’re thinking, that there is lead in batteries. True, but the majority of the lead is recycled for reuse. Burning fuel creates carbon and the problem is not slowing, it has pushed us into a global climate change. Transportation and generating electricity have been called the two major factors in our current global climate change.
