Are Canadians allowed to eat seal?

Yes; actually every year Canada allows two months of seal hunting, and the products from the hunt are exported and used at home.  Seal meat is usually used for pet food, but it can be eaten by humans as well.  Just last month, Canadian Parliament put seal on the menu in the parliamentary restaurant in response to a boycott by the European Union on Canada’s seal products.

Yes, they are. Canadians have even made seal meat a part of their economy. Along with seal pelts, Canada exports seal meat to places like Taiwan, South Korea, and even Europe. In 2009, Europe banned seal meat imports but other countries are still keeping the market afloat. In 2006, seal exports in Canada reached $18 mil dollars(CAD).
