Burt’s Bees products are marketed as “natural.” They don’t use any synthetic ingredients, so by definition, their products should be biodegradable. Burt’s Bees developed “The Natural Standard.” The rules of this certifications state that “A product labeled “natural” should use (bio)degradable ingredients and the most environmentally sensitive packaging.” Burt’s Bees doesn’t flat out state that they are biodegradable, but it is inferred in their Natural Standard certification.
Most Burt’s Bee’s products are actually not biodegradable, although the natural ingredients are better for your skin that other products. Check out http://www.pristineplanet.com for biodegradable lotions, and also look into Jason products @ http://www.jason-natural.com.
