Are biofuels causing more deforestation?

    Yes, biofuels are causing much more deforestation according to green activist groups. Simone Lovera, managing coordinator for Global Forest Coalition, says the group calls it “deforestation diesel.” One of the best sources of the oil is palm trees, which companies are planting now more than ever. In order to make room for the palm trees, natural forests are being cut down in several countries. Places experiencing the “deforestation diesel” effect are Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Brazil.
