Are biodegradable bags made from corn or soybeans?

    Biodegradable bags were originally made up of polyethylene, which breaks into smaller pieces but does not actually break down. Now, most biodegradable bags are made from corn or a combination of natural starches that will compost and break down completely (after about 18 months or so).
