Are bananas in the wild smaller than the ones we get in the stores?

It depends entirely on the banana. There are some species of wild banana such as seeded bananas, sold mainly in Indonesia, that are smaller. On the other end the plantain is a much larger banana than the ones we find in stores. The yellow bananas we are used to are a farmed bananas that have been domesticated. They generally only grow in temperate climates.
