Are Asian carp hurting fish populations near the great lakes?

Yes. Asian carp are very large and reproduce rapidly, so they can easily overpower the ecosystem in the Great Lakes. They disrupt the food chain in place for the native fish. Because of this, the EPA and other organizations are working to set up barriers to prevent them from spreading as much.
