Are arteries and veins made of the same thing?

Yes, arteries and views are both blood vessels with the same structure.  They are both made of the same three layers: tunica intimia, tunica media and tunica adventitia.  The main difference is that the elastic fibers in the tunica media are in much larger proportion in arteries than in veins.
