Are areas near the equator as effected by global warming as the poles?

Global warming effects the entire planet.  While areas at the poles may see more ice melting, equatorial regions may be effected by the increase in sea levels due to the melting. Areas around the globe are all also affected by the increase in temperatures which lead to ice melting, beach erosion, air pollution and devastation of local ecosystems.
