Are any species of animals retreating to the poles to escape warming climates?

Ornithologists have noticed that a number of bird species seem to be retreating north due to increased termperatures.  Over the last five years, 58 percent of the more than 300 migratory bird species in the United States have moved farther north due to increased termperatures.  Among the species that have moved the most are the American goldflinch, the blue-black gnatcatcher, the turkey vulture, and the black duck.
