The strongest animal in the world is actually the rhinoceros beetle, which can lift about 850 times it’s own body weight, compared to the ant which can only left about 20 times their own body weight.
The Rhinoceros Beetle is the strongest living thing by body weight, able to lift 850 times its own weight. The strongest mammal is (suprise!) the elephant, able to lift over twenty thousand pounds. But then, elephants tend to weigh around twelve thousand pounds. Other animals in the running – grizzly bears, leafcutter ants, gorillas, eagles, tigers, oxen, anacondas and mussels (how fitting).
