Are Amur leopards endangered?

    Yes, Amur leopards and endangered. As of late 2006, there were only between 25 and 25 Amur leopards left. It is actually the most endangered of all large wild cats. Even worse, when Amur leopards live in captivity, they are only expected to live about 17 years.

    Due to loss of habitats and poaching, they are classified as a critically endangered species and are on the verge of extinction. However, anti-poaching teams and developing environmental education programs that showcase the animal’s importance to the region are being established.
