According to data released by the US Department of Agriculture on food availability and per-capita purchases over the last 100 years, Americans are cutting back on beef and milk and are turning to chicken and cheese. Even with this fact, Americans are rated as the third highest cosumers in beef consumption behind Argentina and Australia. The average american consumes 41kg of beef while the average person in Argentina consumes 54 kg.
