No. The IUCN Red List classifies the American Alligator as lower risk/least concern. However, that is based on data from 1996 and they even have a note saying it needs updating.
No. They were put on the endangered species list in 1967 and removed in 1987, when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced the population fully recovered.
