The Gray Wolf is an incredibly adaptable specie of animal.  Currently more the world population is believed to be around 200,000.  All wolves are subspecies of Grey Wolves, which means as a whole wolves are not endangered, however certain populations of wolves ARE endangered.  Some of these populations include the Arabian Wolf, Mexican Wolf, Red Wolf, and Arctic Wolf.
