Yes and no. Obviously the companies try to make their products seem much more eco-friendly than they probably are. But yes it is more sustainable to use bamboo than some other materials.
It depends on how the bamboo is treated. A lot of times, particularly for making bamboo fabrics, they get dosed with a ton of chemicals. The growing and harvesting of the bamboo might be eco-friendly— it what happens to it after that point that determines its credibility as a sustainable product.
