Yes, all cactus fruit is edible, however some are more labor intensive and less flavorful than others. Many cactus fruits are very seedy or have spines that make the fruit not worth the labor. Some of the most notable cactus fruits are prickly pears and dragon fruits, which can both be very flavorful.
They are all edible, though some contain mescaline, which has hallucinogenic properties and are therefore considered toxic by some. According to one site, ingesting a “mescalin button” from a Peyote cactus can cause “Increased body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure; loss of appetite, sleeplessness, numbness, weakness, tremors.”
