Are all plant oil plastics compostable or is it only those that explicitly say so?

Plant plastics (often not made from plant oils specifically) are mostly, if not entirely, under the “compostable” label by their very nature. There are three levels of “degradability” for plastics: compostable, biodegradable, and degradable (these destinctions largely have to do with degradation time, the means of degradation, and eco-toxicity). Each of these levels is detailed in the link below. There’s even a chart that shows how long it takes to completely compost different kinds of bioplastics.

So go throw those corn-based bags in the compost bin!
