Yes. The Solar Impulse does not rely on any form of energy other than that from the sun, which is converted into electrical energy and stored in batteries for use by the motors. The plane’s surface is covered with 200 square meters of photovalic cells, and contains four motors, each of which obtains a maximum power of 10 horsepower.
