Are algal blooms getting worse in the Pacific Ocean?

Since more glaciers are melting, and iron that helps along the algal blooms comes from the water of these glaciers, the algal blooms are becoming more prevalent.  The algal blooms are effective at removing CO2 from the atmosphere, thus helping to stablize the climate.  British scientists have planned to release tons of iron sulfate into the ocean, in order to help along the process.
