Yes, there are people in the rain forest. First, there are many native tribes in the rain forest and all the people whose ancestors have been living there, are allowed to stay. That being said, almost 90% of indigenous groups have been killed off or displaced in the Brasilian rain forest. There is also a booming eco-tourism industry that leads groups through the rain forest. The Amazon river is a popular tourist destination, and there are many guided tours down the river. There are also many groups of loggers and developers at the edges of the rain forest that are destroying the precious forest, acre by acre.
