Is any water lost during the water cycle?

Technically no. Since the Earth is a closed system, meaning its atmosphere keeps everything inside it, there cannot be any water lost in the water cycle. More or less water may be exchanges by different fluxes, but the water remains constant because if it does not evaporate, it is absorbed by plants and then transpired, or it enter aquifers. The water just moves around a lot.
