Yes. Or at least, in theory, as its always possible we could mess it up somehow. But most likely, due to the fact it will make energy transmission across widespread areas more efficient, it will be worth it. The idea behind this stems from the fact that if energy can get where it wants to go better, we need less of it, which means fossil fuels powerplants will use less fuel, and we can even replace some with different, rnewable energy sources, since we won’t be losing power to inefficient systems and transport
